Her educational background includes a master's degree in business Administration from INCAE, Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, both from the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA).

Accredited as a certified Public Accountant and Auditor by the Consejo de Vigilancia de la Profesión de Contaduría Pública y Auditoría in El Salvador.

Has been played on international Firms such as KPMG, Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, and currently in the Russell Bedford El Salvador (Cornejo & Umaña). He has received training taught in El Salvador, the united States, Mexico, and Central America. He has also received training for audits of Agencies given by the IDB, USAID and the European Union. He participated in the congress GROW: Trainer of Trainers IPSASB (Public Sector), taught by IFAC, in Quito, Ecuador. Participated as an instructor for KPMG at the central american level.

In its more than 30 years of professional experience has led in auditing and consultancy services in various sectors, agencies, and programs executed with funds from multilateral credit agencies and cooperation such as the IDB, IBRD, CABEI, European Union, AECID) among others. Has been responsible for audits of major business groups, private, International Organizations, and Governmental entities.

He was part of the Board of Directors of the Association of Graduates of the INCAE and the Salvadorian Association of Business Administrators (ASPAE) in different periods.
